Family R&R
Before Jezz left I had a weird experience which can only be described as feeling like weeing through the left of my ribcage. I was left in no doubt that allowing my drain tube to block by becoming kinked (like a garden hose) does not end well for keeping randomly generated body fluids contained within the body and drain paraphernalia. The side-weed body fluids even got my phone๐ฑ.
Fortunately the drain was removed on Tuesday, it wasn't a painful experience but it was peculiar. Imagine if you are able, a foot-long Haribo snake which is asleep on your ribcage but under your skin. Somewhere near your sternum it awakens, juddering, squirming and then in one swift writhing dart move it slithers across your chest and exits through a tiny hole in your left torso. Well if you can imagine that, you will know what it felt like, and that it was peculiar.
Mum and I have been doing much sorting this week, it seems I dont get around to sorting things, this is the luxury domain of retirees, stay at home mums and maternity-leavers surely? Our sorting activity has involved me being seated, generally with a cup of tea, in various rooms while mum asks me what I want doing with X or Y. I had no preparation for this and it is indeed true that having your mother go through your cupboards and accumulated piles-of-stuff definitely leads to embarrassment and horror before the sunny uplands of better organisation!
My sister Sam arrived on Wednesday night and has been working from home (I thought some of my conference calls were dull!) between doing all of my backed up washing. I have never had all of the dog stuff and all of my spare bedding all clean at once, I thing I could justify a linen room, it is glorious and I am so grateful! Sam's visit tied in perfectly with the return of my nephew (her Son) Toby from 3 months training on the Isle of Wight ahead of a summer season with Neilson on the Mar Menor. I don't get enough time with Toby but whenever we have it I love it!! We had Mum and Sam (our excellent housekeeping team) hold the fort/kettle/lunch while we spent the morning painting together and then I did Toby's nails.
Getting over this Op with the support of family is a beautiful silver lining to all of this horridness and I am truly grateful for it. Jezz should be leaving London shortly and Mum, Sam and Toby should be arriving back in Cheshire soon too. That leaves me without supervision for a few hours so I am off to find some mischief!
I will leave you with the clean-enough-to-share part of my sister's "handover notes" for when Jezz gets home!๐๐
